The then CEC of India, TN Seshan honoured GS RAJAN on 10 June 1995 when Rajan composed and presented a two-hour musicalentitled 'Reflections' in New Delhi. 1995

The national jury of Akashwani Award of All India Radio was bestowed upon RAJAN in the year 1996 when Rajan's unique production entitled 'OASIS' containing seven thematic orchestral compositions was selected as one of the best production of All India Radio.On receiving this award, Rajan was invited to present this production in Kerala and Karnataka by All India Radio along with his 15-member orchestra.
GS RAJAN received the "Best Music Critic" award for the year 2004 from the Minister of Information and Broadcasting. Sangam Kala Group instituted this national level award.In 2005 Rajan was awarded a special fellowship by the Government of France to work with French musicians and to compose "RAGA-SYMPHONY". Rajan thus lived in Marseille, France for almost an year, composed and presented his compositions at the Cite de la Musique and other venues in France.
On behalf of 'Apoorva Raagam', Tamil magazine on classical arts, Thavil maestro Shri Valayapatti honoured GS RAJAN with the title 'Venu Gaana Sudaroli' (flute maestro) on 1 January 2007 in Chennai.
